This year, we've helped more customers get their new electric products to market and as a result have received global recognition. Here we reflect on 2019 highlights and look forward to exciting new developments.
Best of the Year
Welcome to HYVE
In July this year we opened the doors to HYVE, the UK’s largest independent battery pack manufacturing facility, at our HQ site in Sunderland. With the capacity to manufacture up to 30,000 batteries a year, the launch of the 21,000 square foot facility enables us to supply some of the world’s largest brands with our high performance battery systems.
The Sunday Times Tech Track 100
Ranking 40th in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100, the internationally recognised list ranks the top 100 private tech firms in Britain. Sitting alongside huge tech companies such as Dyson, JCB, McLaren and Virgin, it’s been a huge achievement for Team Hyperdrive.
Supplying our modular battery pack to power JCB’s first all-electric mini-excavator, it was a fantastic moment to witness the E-TEC 19E win the world famous Dewar Trophy. One of the most revered awards in British Engineering, the project was recognized as an ‘Outstanding British Technical Achievement in the Automotive Industry’.
Snorkel’s Fully Electric Speed Level
Celebrating Snorkel Lift’s 60th Anniversary, we’ve partnered with them to power and bring to the market their first lithium-ion powered Sigma Lift. Previewed at Bauma, the world’s largest construction show, the new zero-emission SL26RTE and SL30RTE models reduce running costs by up to 95% and are now in volume manufacture.
Our 2020 Vision
Looking ahead, we are determined to continue our history of innovation and bring industry leading solutions to our customers. Here’s a first look at what we’ve got planned:
HY-Energy Plus Peak
Available in the first quarter of 2020, our new HY Energy Plus Peak Battery Pack allows for a higher peak current over a longer time period. With the first production prototypes on their way to customers, we expect to formally launch the new product early in the new year. Sign up here to be among the first to receive the datasheet for our High Current pack.
In development, our climate controlled pack is our first battery pack to feature active thermal management. Cooling the battery when it’s warm, and warming the battery when it’s cold, our battery technology keeps the battery at an optimal temperature to achieve the very best performance.
