Hyperdrive Innovation is delighted to announce Sunderland based charity 4Louis as Charity of the Year 2019.
Founded in 2009 by Kirsty McGurrell and Michael Knight following the stillbirth of their son Louis at 38 weeks, the charity supports families through miscarriage, stillbirth and child loss, and works to improve the care parents receive from healthcare professionals by providing equipment and training free of charge to hospital units and hospices.
After an extensive shortlisting process of regional and national charities, Hyperdrive selected 4Louis in a company wide employee vote. Committing all of its annual fundraising efforts, the Hyperdrive team will take part in a calendar of events throughout 2019 including sponsored runs, walks, bake offs, and even leg waxing, as well as donating their time and resources to support 4Louis in every way they can.
Chris Pennison, CEO at Hyperdrive Innovation commented, “On behalf of the Board, we are thrilled to have 4Louis as our annual charity partner and are very much looking forward to making our collaboration a great success. We were shocked to learn that every day in the UK around 15 babies die before, during or soon after birth with 1 in 4 pregnancies resulting in miscarriage before 12 weeks. The Hyperdrive team welcome a challenge and I’m confident they’ll go above and beyond to support 4Louis.”
Kirsty McGurrell, Founder of 4Louis commented, “We are so excited for this partnership. It means a lot to us to have such support and we are looking forward to working with Hyperdrive Innovation and their employees over the coming year.”
Hyperdrive has also announced that it will match fund the total amount of money raised by its employees.
